Medicare part C covers for the gaps in the part A and B and sometimes for the prescription drugs based on the type of the plan chosen. If you take an advantage covered under the part C of the Medicare, you will get all the Medicare coverage form this plan alone. The Medicare plan includes the following things:
After joining the Medicare advantage plan, you will be given a card from the plan to use it as a reference. As the name suggests, the coverage of this plan is wide. There are no copayments and other costs to be met out of the pocket. Most of the Medicare advantage plans cover only for visits to a particular group of health care providers and hospitals.
The eligibility for the Advantage is attained upon signing for both part A and B. The premiums are to be paid both for the part B along with the variable plan premiums for the Advantage plans. The advantage plans cover for the following things:
Because of the widest range of the coverage offered by the Medicare advantage, it is better that you take any one of the plans which suits the requirements. Every plan is to be studied objectively to ensure maximum coverage for the personal health conditions and needs.
It is to be noted that the period to switch, terminate the Advantage plan is limited and you need to consider this before signing for a plan. The eligibility to sign up for this is just like the Medicare i.e., three months before the month of turning 65 to the three months after turning 65. If the policyholder wishes to switch or drop the Medicare advantage plan, he/she can do it between Oct 15 and Dec 07 of every year.
