An adult with a dependent child and who qualifies for a family Medicaid because of having a dependent child is eligible to sign for this program. This started on the 1st of July, 2002.
Not only those with Medicaid but also those adults who meet the following requirements are eligible:
Non-Traditional Medicaid provides low benefits and the person has to pay for the high out of pocket costs and so it is not advisable if you have the original Medicaid. Disabled/blind children or adults and those who are older than 65 and women with pregnancy may prefer the original Medicaid.
